2019-20 RHPTA Officer Slate
The Ridglea Hills Elementary Nominating Committee submits the following nominees for the year 2019-20:

Elections will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, at the PTA General Meeting before the Kindergarten Program at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  

“Feasting for 5th” Fundraising at Pelican’s Snoballs After School This Wednesday, April 17
  • Please join us for our “Feast for 5th” Fundraising event at Pelican’s Snoballs (6517 Camp Bowie Blvd.) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Wednesday, April 17.
  • 20% of the proceeds will be donated to help RH 5th grade fundraising.

Field Day is This Thursday, April 18
As a reminder, Field Day is this Thursday, April 18. We have an amazing day lined up! 
  • Below is the schedule for the day:
  • 8:15 a.m.-8:30 a.m. – Field Day Parade
  • 8:30 a.m.-10:55 a.m. – PPCD & Pre-K through 2nd Grade Event Rotations
  • 12:30 p.m. – PPCD & Pre-K through 2nd Grade Tug of War
  • 10:20 a.m.-off/on until 1:30 p.m. – LINC & 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Event Rotations and Track Races
  • 1:30 p.m.-2:25 p.m. – LINC & 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Tug of War
  • 2:25 p.m. – 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Fastest Boy and Girl in the School Race
  • *Lunch will follow the normal schedule.
  • Students may wear their Field Day T-shirt or other school spirit shirt and appropriate length athletic shorts. They should also wear tennis shoes and sunscreen. 
  • Please note the colors of the Field Day T-shirts by grade are as follows:
  • PPCD/LINC: Silver
  • Pre-K: Heather navy
  • Kinder: Yellow
  • 1st: Kelly green
  • 2nd: Sapphire
  • 3rd: Light blue
  • 4th: Flash green
  • 5th: Maroon
  • Field Day T-shirts will be distributed by the teachers to their students by this Wednesday, April 17. Older students will receive T-shirts for their younger siblings. 
  • Parents and siblings are welcome to attend but must sign in at the front office. No pets allowed.
  • Attn: Room Parents – Bottled waters for your class will be available for pickup before and after school on Tuesday and Wednesday in the auditorium. Please pick them up for your class, label them and bring them on ice to Field Day on Thursday. Thank you!

Calling for Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award Nominations
Do you know an outstanding volunteer, teacher or community member who should be recognized for his/her service to Ridglea Hills Elementary? Nominate him/her for the Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award! This honorary award is presented to individuals who have given outstanding service to and for the students of our school. 
  • If you have someone to nominate, please email Jenn Nevitt with your name, the nominee’s name and why they should be nominated for this special award. If you’d prefer to submit this information in hard copy form, please leave it in the Membership folder of the PTA filing cabinet in the office. 
  • Nominations will be accepted through Sunday, April 28.

Spring is in the Air, Don’t Forget to Treat Your Secret Buddies! 
Spring is in the air! Don’t forget to treat your Secret Buddies.
  • There’s not much school year left so now is the perfect time to treat your Secret Buddies to make them feel special and appreciated for all they do for our kids.
  • We have the BEST school filled with an amazing staff, and we want to let each and every one of them know that they make a difference to our kids and to us!

Reminder: Online Pre-K Registration Continues Through Friday, April 26
  • Parents can register for Pre-K online through Friday, April 26.
  • Registrations will be processed through the Early Childhood Department by Friday, May 10, with letters going home notifying parents on Monday, May 13.
  • For more information about Pre-K, visit www.fwisd.org/prek.
  • Currently, Pre-K is planned to start at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:15 p.m., and after-school care by the YMCA will again be available on campus until 6 p.m. for those parents who need it.
Enter Your RHPTA Volunteer Hours
Please enter your RHPTA volunteer hours for the appropriate month online. Click the following link to access: 
  • Volunteer hours include: PTA meetings, work at the school, PTA-related work from home, fundraising, special school programs (Field Day, Fine Arts Day, etc.), cafeteria duty, copying, errands for PTA, etc.
  • You can submit this form as many times as you wish throughout the month. We will add them up for you! 
  • We will close out the hours for each month a few days into the next month. 
  • Hours are allowed to be carried over and reported from any time in the year to any reporting period as long as they are reported only once.
