Testing for Kindergarten Through 2nd Grade This Week
  • This week we will be having testing for Kindergarten through 2nd grade on Tuesday, April 23, through Friday, April 26. 
  • Campus is not closed, but we will not be having anyone volunteer or visit all day on these testing days.
  • Visitors are still welcome to come for lunch.

The Ridglea Hills Elementary Nominating Committee submits the following nominees for the year 2019-20:

Elections will be held at 6:15 p.m. this Tuesday, April 23, at the PTA General Meeting before the Kindergarten Program at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  

5th Grade Fundraiser: $3 Out-of-Dress Code Wristbands for Sale Monday and Tuesday to Wear Wednesday and Thursday
  • Out-of-dress code wristbands will be available for purchase for $3 before school and at lunch tomorrow, Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, to be worn on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25. 
  • We will also sell them before school on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25.
  • As always, basic dress code guidelines must be followed. (No wind shorts or ripped jeans allowed.)

“Feasting for 5th” Fundraising at Pelican’s Snoballs After School This Thursday, April 25
  • Please join us for our “Feast for 5th” Fundraising event at Pelican’s Snoballs (6517 Camp Bowie Blvd.) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Thursday, April 25.
  • 20% of the proceeds will be donated to help RH 5th grade fundraising.

Reminder: Talent Show is This Friday, April 26!
  • Talent Show Dress Rehearsal is from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. this Wednesday, April 24, at Monnig Middle School Auditorium.
  • Talent Show is at 6 p.m. this Friday, April 26, at Monnig Middle School Auditorium.
We need volunteers to help with the show! If you’re interested and available, please contact Karina Gonzales.

Reminder: Online Pre-K Registration Continues Through This Friday, April 26
  • Parents can register for Pre-K online through this Friday, April 26.
  • Registrations will be processed through the Early Childhood Department by Friday, May 10, with letters going home notifying parents on Monday, May 13.
  • For more information about Pre-K, visit www.fwisd.org/prek.
  • Currently, Pre-K is planned to start at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:15 p.m., and after-school care by the YMCA will again be available on campus until 6 p.m. for those parents who need it. 
Reminder: Field Day Rescheduled for Friday, May 3
As a reminder, Field Day has been rescheduled for Friday, May 3. We have an amazing day lined up! 
  • Below is the schedule for the day:
  • 8:15 a.m.-8:30 a.m. – Field Day Parade
  • 8:30 a.m.-10:55 a.m. – PPCD & Pre-K through 2nd Grade Event Rotations
  • 12:30 p.m. – PPCD & Pre-K through 2nd Grade Tug of War
  • 10:20 a.m.-off/on until 1:30 p.m. – LINC & 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Event Rotations and Track Races
  • 1:30 p.m.-2:25 p.m. – LINC & 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Tug of War
  • 2:25 p.m. – 3rd Grade through 5th Grade Fastest Boy and Girl in the School Race
  • *Lunch will follow the normal schedule.
  • Students may wear their Field Day T-shirt or other school spirit shirt and appropriate length athletic shorts. They should also wear tennis shoes and sunscreen. 
  • Please note the colors of the Field Day T-shirts by grade are as follows:
  • PPCD/LINC: Silver
  • Pre-K: Heather navy
  • Kinder: Yellow
  • 1st: Kelly green
  • 2nd: Sapphire
  • 3rd: Light blue
  • 4th: Flash green
  • 5th: Maroon
  • Field Day T-shirts will be distributed by the teachers to their students by Wednesday, May 1. Older students will receive T-shirts for their younger siblings. 
  • Parents and siblings are welcome to attend but must sign in at the front office. No pets allowed.

Calling for Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award Nominations
Do you know an outstanding volunteer, teacher or community member who should be recognized for his/her service to Ridglea Hills Elementary? Nominate him/her for the Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award! This honorary award is presented to individuals who have given outstanding service to and for the students of our school. 
  • If you have someone to nominate, please email Jenn Nevitt with your name, the nominee’s name and why they should be nominated for this special award. If you’d prefer to submit this information in hard copy form, please leave it in the Membership folder of the PTA filing cabinet in the office. 
  • Nominations will be accepted through next Sunday, April 28.

Spring is in the air! Don’t forget to treat your Secret Buddies.
  • There’s not much school year left so now is the perfect time to treat your Secret Buddies to make them feel special and appreciated for all they do for our kids.
  • We have the BEST school filled with an amazing staff, and we want to let each and every one of them know that they make a difference to our kids and to us!

Enter Your RHPTA Volunteer Hours By Friday, May 3
Please enter your RHPTA volunteer hours for the appropriate month online by Friday, May 3. Click the following link to access:

  • Volunteer hours include: PTA meetings, work at the school, PTA-related work from home, fundraising, special school programs (Field Day, Fine Arts Day, etc.), cafeteria duty, copying, errands for PTA, etc.
  • You can submit this form as many times as you wish throughout the month. We will add them up for you! 
  • We will soon be closing out the hours for the year so enter yours no later than Friday, May 3. 
  • Hours are allowed to be carried over and reported from any time in the year to any reporting period as long as they are reported only once.

Mustang Stampede is Ready!
Mustang Stampede is ready to thrill your kids with a surprise appearance on their birthday or any special occasion! Your kids will wake up on the day you select to find their front yard "stampeded" with mustang signs displayed by 5th grade families.
