2018-19 RHPTA Officers

2018-19 RHPTA officer elections were held last week. The Ridglea Hills Elementary PTA officers for the 2018-19 school year are:

  • 3rd VP Programs – Ivy Ellis

Teacher Appreciation Week is This Week!
Teacher Appreciation Week is scheduled for this week – tomorrow, Monday, April 30, through this Friday, May 4. Encourage your students to show their appreciation for our amazing teachers and staff all week. 
 
Below is what is planned by the PTA:
  • Monday – 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast in the breakroom
  • Tuesday – 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Rollin’ Stone Taco Truck
  • Wednesday – 7:45 a.m. – Gifts for all staff in breakroom
  • Thursday – Fun Facts about My Teacher (from students)***
  • Friday – Flip Flops and Hats Day (for staff only)
 
***The Fun Facts about My Teacher blank form was sent home in folders last week for students to complete and give to their teachers this Thursday. The form is also available electronically on the RHPTA website.

Wednesday, May 30
  • Kindergarten Awards (8:15 a.m.)
  • 2nd Grade Awards (10:30 a.m.)
 
Thursday, May 31
  • 3rd Grade Awards (8:30 a.m.)
  • 4th Grade Awards (10 a.m.)
  • LINC Awards (11:30 a.m.)
 
Friday, June 1
  • 5th Grade Promotion (8:30 a.m.)
  • Last Day of School
 
Please note the following:
  • If you are coming to Awards Day or Promotion and not going to the classroom, you will sign in and then you may go directly into the Auditorium.
  • If you plan on going to your student’s classroom, having lunch with your student, or getting an early dismissal, you must follow these procedures:
  1. Stop at the table in the lobby—worker will check your ID against the student’s emergency card. Your name must be on the emergency card to go to the classroom, have lunch or attend class parties.
  2. Receive a sticker, and then you may proceed to the classroom or the lunchroom.
  3. If you are signing out a student, your name must be on the emergency card. Sign the child out at the table in the lobby.
 
Reminder: Support the Teddy Bear Drive for Cook Children’s Patients Now Through May 6
  • Help us collect teddy bears for Cook Children’s patients now through Sunday, May 6.
  • All bears must be new. (Many children have illnesses that make them more susceptible to germs.)

Attention 5th Grade Parents: We Need Your Pictures for 5th Grade Slide Show at Graduation by May 25
It’s time to start creating the 5th grade slide show for graduation! 
  • Please send pictures from all the years your students attended Ridglea Hills to Mandy Perez. 
  • We would love to have all students represented.
  • Pictures from your camera or camera phone are great!
  • Please email them to Mandy Perez at Mandyperez2379@gmail.com
  • The deadline is Friday, May 25.
 
RHE Science Fair is Coming Soon on Tuesday, May 8
As a reminder, RHE Science Fair is on Tuesday, May 8. Science Fair is a great opportunity for kids to explore problem solving and boost creative thinking!
 
The judging rubrics for requirements of each type of investigation are available on the RHPTA website. Please note the following information provided by FWISD:
  • 2nd – 4th grade projects should be a Descriptive or Comparative investigation only. (Experimental projects entered for these grade levels will be displayed, but not judged.) 
  • 5th grade projects can be a Descriptive, Comparative or Experimental investigation.
  • 2nd – 5th grade may work on individual or team projects (with a maximum of five team members).
  • Pre-K – 1st grade may enter class projects for display, but they will not be judged.
