Playground & Marquee Updates
Playground Shade
As you may have noticed, our playgrounds are under construction to erect our new shade structures. Due to a vendor delay, the playgrounds were not completed prior to the first day of school as we had anticipated.
  • Our vendor had planned to have them finished over the weekend, but a delay and closure at the concrete supplier prevented that.
  • Playgrounds will be closed for recess Monday and Tuesday of this week for the anchoring of the shade structure poles.
  • Next weekend the shade covers will be added, and the project will be complete.
  • Later this fall, six new trees will be planted – three on each playground. This project was delayed intentionally due to the hot summer potential and need for watering and monitoring.

New Marquee
The new marquee approved in the spring will be installed in late October.
  • Permitting and manufacture have delayed this project as well, but it is on target to be finished this fall.
  • Stay tuned for more details.

Thank you for your 2017-18 donations that helped us to implement these fabulous projects! Walkathon is just around the corner; help us improve our school even more this year!

Cafeteria Volunteers Needed
We are in need of cafeteria volunteers. There are shifts available for the first month of school.
  • Lunch is from 10:15 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
  • This is especially helpful for our younger grades to assist them with opening packages, navigating the cafeteria, etc.
  • The older grades need help with noise control.
  • If you can spare time during lunchtime, please contact Wendy Magee, Cafeteria Volunteer Chair, to sign up. It is a great way to meet your children’s friends and teachers, and get a jump start on earning those volunteer hours.
  • To volunteer, you MUST have your FWISD background check approved beforehand.
