National School Counselor Week is This Week, Feb. 4-8!
This week is National School Counselor Week from tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 8. Students are invited to participate in the following daily activities:
  • Monday, Feb. 4 – My School Counselor Is On My Team! Students may wear a sports team shirt/jersey to school.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 5 – My School Counselor Knows I Have a Bright Future! Students may wear neon-colored shirts to school.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 6 – My School Counselor Knows I’m College Bound! Students may wear a college shirt or college colors to school.
  • Thursday, Feb. 7 – My School Counselor Loves School Spirit! Students may wear school spirit shirts to school.
  • Friday, Feb. 8 – My School Counselor is Crazy About Me! Student may wear crazy hats to school.

Hot Dog Supper is THIS Friday, Feb. 8!
RH’s Hot Dog Supper is an annual spring FUNdraiser for the whole family hosted by the RHPTA. We raise money in two ways – raffle basket tickets and kid parties. This year’s event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. THIS Friday, Feb. 8, and features the following:
  • Hot dog and Chick-Fil-A sandwich meals available for $5 – deadline to order yours is this Tuesday, Feb. 5!
  • Raffle Tickets $.50 each – deadline to order yours is this Thursday, Feb. 7!
  • DJ Rick spinning music! Grand Prize Raffle Drawing (ex. iPad, Chromebook, TV, etc.)!
  • 5th grade Sundae Bar available for purchase!  
Last Chance to Order Food is This Tuesday, Feb. 5, and Raffle Tickets is This Thursday, Feb. 7!

Kid Parties
  • Kid parties are for any grade, can be grade specific, girl only, boy only or co-ed. 
  • This year’s parties include Lego, laser tag, swimming, fishing, Nerf, theater and more! Sign up your student at Hot Dog Supper this Friday night!

  • We are still in need of kid party hosts. Party hosts incur the cost of the party, and kids pay to attend.

Raffle Baskets
  • Room Parents are currently collecting donations for classes’ assigned basket themes.  Please donate an item related to your basket theme or a monetary donation to be used toward the basket items. 
  • Baskets must be completed and turned in no later than this Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Fine Arts Day (FAD) Volunteer Sign-Up is Open; T-Shirt Orders Due Friday, Feb. 8!
Get ready for a fun day! Friday, March 1, is Fine eARTh day at Ridglea Hills! After all, the earth without ART is just EH! 
  • Your FAD committee has been hard at work for MONTHS to bring every student at RH an amazing day, but we need YOU! Forms went home in student folders last week for volunteers, and the signups are now live on My School Anywhere. Click this link to access: 
  • All-day volunteers will get a box lunch and a T-shirt. 
  • Lunch/recess volunteers will get a box lunch.
  • We need volunteers to assist every artist, and we also need parents to monitor lunches as the kids all eat in their classrooms that day so everyone can eat at the same time.  
  • If you are a new RH parent then THIS is the day you want to be here for! It’s magical, and you will fall in love with this school and community. 
  • Every student will have an entire day of the arts! From painting to dance to sewing to music and much, much more! 
  • We will be joined by over 40 local artists and musicians, and we are planning a SPECTACULAR finish to the day; you’re going to love it!

T-Shirt Order Deadline is Friday, Feb. 8
  • T-shirts are available to purchase for adults and students - $12 each.
  • Complete the pink T-shirt order form that was sent home in student folders and send with cash or check made payable to RHPTA to the office by Friday, Feb. 8, or order online with credit card at MySchoolAnywhere by clicking here. 
  • Shirts are yellow with printing on front and back. Design is in color on www.rhpta.com or on full-color flyers in the school by the office.
  • The deadline to order is Friday, Feb. 8.
  • Please note that all-day FAD volunteers will receive a complimentary T-shirt – please do not order one; you will request your size on your volunteer form.
  • If you want to make one order (one check) for multiple family members, please use one form and one child’s name – all shirts will be given to that child on distribution day.
  • Please attach money or check to the order form sent home in student folders and return in an envelope.

RH Proudly Presents “A Night In Hollywood” Talent Show Parent/Sponsor Registration Going On Now
Last week we kicked off the Talent Show – “A Night In Hollywood!” with our first parent/sponsor registration meetings. The theme is old Hollywood. Registration is still going on now.  
  • There are usually a few popular songs that are in high demand. Song choices must be registered and approved first come, first serve.
  • Also, when making your song and choreography choices, please make sure to first read the guidelines and regulations page in the registration packet available on the RHPTA website under Student Activities/Talent Show.

Free Field Hockey Clinic for RH Girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade on Friday, March 29; Sign Up Feb. 1-28
  • There will be a free field hockey clinic for RH girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the RH athletic fields by the track.
  • Girls should come dressed to play in athletic wear, tennis shoes or cleats and shin guards (if available) with a water bottle.

  • A portion of the day’s proceeds go back to our Ridglea Hills Library so Ms. Rick can buy more books for your students to read!

Mustang Stampede is Ready!
Mustang Stampede is ready to thrill your kids with a surprise appearance on their birthday or any special occasion! Your kids will wake up on the day you select to find their front yard "stampeded" with mustang signs displayed by 5th grade families.
  • Your $25 donation (which goes to support the 5th grade field trip) includes 12 mustang signs, two optional birthday signs, and a Ridglea Hills sign.
