As a reminder, this Friday, Feb. 1, is a FWISD Waiver Day. There will not be school for students this day.

RH Proudly Presents “A Night In Hollywood” First Parent/Sponsor Talent Show Registration Meeting Tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 28, and This Wednesday, Jan. 30
This week we kick off the Talent Show – “A Night In Hollywood!” The theme is old Hollywood. All are welcome to attend our first parent/sponsor meetings to learn about Talent Show and get your early registration and requests in. 
  • Tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 28, and this Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the auditorium is first call/first registration – first chance to register your acts and secure your songs and theme.
  • There are usually a few popular songs that are in high demand. Song choices must be registered and approved first come, first serve.
  • All information will be shared about the entire Talent Show experience, including rules and important dates leading up to the big show.
  • All that is needed for first registration is: 
  • Primary Sponsor name/contact info
  • Child’s Name/Group Name
  • Grade(s)
  • Song(s) 
  • Theme

Spring Pictures, Including Class and Group/Club Pictures, Scheduled for This Tuesday, Jan. 29
  • There will be spring pictures, including class and group/club pictures, taken this Tuesday, Jan. 29.
  • Students may be out of dress code for these pictures. Clothing must still fall within the FWISD-approved dress code parameters. 
  • Please send any related group/club T-shirts (i.e., Chess Club, Run Club, Student Council, Safety Patrol, Honor Choir, etc.) with your student to change into for the pictures.
  • An order form for these pictures was sent home in student folders last week.
 
Reminder: History Fair This Thursday, Jan. 31!
  • As a reminder, the RH History Fair will be held this Thursday, Jan. 31. 
  • Participating students need to bring trifold poster board, process paper and bibliography without their names on any of the materials directly to the gym first thing on Thursday morning. 
  • At 7:30 a.m., we will be ready to receive materials and provide a code number for all. 
  • As students finalize their projects, please keep the following in mind:

  • Students will choose a topic that interests them and share what they learn with the RH community by preparing a display board, process paper and bibliography.
  • Students may participate individually or submit a group project. 
  • Teachers at each grade level are offering extra credit for participation.
  • The first-place winners from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will advance to the District History Fair.
 
PTA Membership Drive Ends This Thursday, Jan. 31!
  • This is the last week of our PTA membership drive; it ends this Thursday, Jan. 31! Each new member will be entered into a drawing for a Starbucks gift card! 
 
Hot Dog Supper On Friday, Feb. 8, is a Super FUNdraiser!
RH’s Hot Dog Supper is an annual spring FUNdraiser for the whole family hosted by the RHPTA. We raise money in two ways – raffle basket tickets and kid parties. This year’s event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, and features the following:
  • Hot dog and Chick-Fil-A sandwich meals available for $5!
  • Raffle Tickets $.50 each!
  • DJ Rick spinning music!
  • Grand Prize Raffle Drawing (ex. iPad, Chromebook, TV, etc.)!
  • 5th grade Sundae Bar available for purchase!

  • Room Parents are currently collecting donations for classes’ assigned basket themes. 
  • Please donate an item related to your basket theme or a monetary donation to be used toward the basket items. 
  • Baskets must be completed and turned in no later than Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Kid Parties
  • Kid parties are for any grade, can be grade specific, girl only, boy only or co-ed. Kid parties do not need to be expensive – simple is better! Get creative! 
  • Examples: Popsicles in the Park, Pizza & Soccer, Pool Party, Bingo & Brunch. So, gather several other parents, and plan a fun kid party to host together! 
  • We are in need of kid party hosts. Party hosts incur the cost of the party, and kids pay to attend. 
  • **Kid Parties are only available for purchase at Hot Dog Supper. Parties with leftover spots will be available for purchase the week after HDS.

Free Field Hockey Clinic for RH Girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade on Friday, March 29; Sign Up Feb. 1-28
  • There will be a free field hockey clinic for RH girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the RH athletic fields by the track.
  • Girls should come dressed to play in athletic wear, tennis shoes or cleats and shin guards (if available) with a water bottle. ·     
  • There are only 50 spots available. Sign up between Feb. 1-28 by completing the form posted on the RHPTA website and returning it to Principal Cotton.·     
  • Girls will learn basic field hockey skills, play games and have fun!
 
Mustang Stampede is Ready!
Mustang Stampede is ready to thrill your kids with a surprise appearance on their birthday or any special occasion! Your kids will wake up on the day you select to find their front yard "stampeded" with mustang signs displayed by 5th grade families.
