Walkathon Update

Thanks to all our Mustang families and sponsors who have already contributed! We have raised $45,000 so far!

  • Thanks to all the families who supported Walkathon by dining at Chipotle last week. We raised more than $734! Special thanks to Chipotle for the opportunity!
  • Keep those donations coming, and remember that no donation is too small. Everyone can participate. Fill the jug with cash and coins all week!
  • Check out all of the exciting things planned leading up to our big day this Friday, Oct. 6.
Out-of-Dress-Code Day This Wednesday, Oct. 4
  • Out-of-dress-code wristbands are being sold for $2 before school and during lunch tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 3, to be used this Wednesday, Oct. 4. (Basic dress code guidelines must be followed.)
  • The homeroom class that buys the most out-of-dress-code wristbands gets to tape Ms. Cotton to the wall on Thursday, Oct. 5.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 3 – Walkathon Spirit Shop during K-5 lunches

  • Please note that students MUST be in appropriate attire on these alternative dress days. No sleeveless tops, bottoms must be appropriate length, and shoes must be appropriate for PE and recess.

  • On Walkathon morning, this Friday, Oct. 6, parking along Cumberland will not be available for morning drop off.

Fall Photo Day This Thursday, Oct. 5
Fall photo day is coming up this Thursday, Oct. 5. Students may dress out of uniform for school pictures, but must conform to the following guidelines:
  • Dresses, skirts and shorts should be no shorter than three inches above the top of the knee.
  • No sagging or oversized bottoms allowed.
  • Spaghetti straps, halter tops, sleeveless tops or revealing clothing are not permitted. 
  • Any clothing or personal items that violate the Student Code of Conduct are not permitted.
  • The administration reserves the right to rule on clothing that is not appropriate. 
Playgrounds Closed for a Day During Recess This Week for Installation
  • The playgrounds will be closed for recess for one day this week for the installation of inclusive pieces of playground equipment – one on each playground.
  • These purchases were made possible through funds raised last year and approved by the PTA Board last spring.
No School Next Monday, Oct. 9, for Waiver Day
Please note that next Monday, Oct. 9, is a Waiver Day so there is no school for students.

Fort Worth School Board is calling for dual November elections on Tuesday, Nov. 7. There will be Town Hall Meetings in advance of the election.
