School Pictures This Thursday, Oct. 6
Students may dress out of uniform for school pictures this Thursday, Oct. 6, but must conform to the following guidelines:
  • Dresses, skirts and shorts should be no shorter than three inches above the top of the knee.
  • No sagging or oversized bottoms allowed.
  • Spaghetti straps, halter tops, sleeveless tops or revealing clothing are not permitted.
  • Any clothing or personal items that violate the Student Code of Conduct are not permitted.
  • The administration reserves the right to rule on clothing that is not appropriate.

Full Speed Ahead – Walkathon is This Friday, Oct. 7!
Walkathon is almost here! We are so close to our $45,000 goal – we have raised $33,976 so far! Thank you, Mustangs!
  • Please keep the donations coming in so we can hit our goal. No amount is too small – every penny counts! This last week, the $10 and $20 donations are what put us over the top. If you haven't donated yet, please consider doing so now, and don’t forget to ask friends and family to donate. The link is on the front page of our website www.rhpta.com.
  • Coin Collection: We are still collecting coins this week! As soon as we get the bottle full we will tape Mrs. Cotton to the wall! Bring those coins in tomorrow and all week !
  • Class Competition: We will continue to accept money as long as it comes in, but the deadline to be the winning class will be Thursday, Oct. 6, at 10:00 a.m. We will announce the winning teacher Thursday afternoon. The winning class will walk in front and carry the banner while their teacher rides in a convertible.
  • Prizes: Any student who has raised $100 will be given a special Walkathon string bag. Any family that has raised a combined $250 or more will receive an invitation to our Walkathon celebration later this month for all of their RHE-aged children. Our two overall winners will receive a special prize as well!
  • T-Shirts: T-shirts will be distributed on Wednesday this week. Some teachers may not send them home until Thursday. On Thursday after school there will be a time to make exchanges in the lobby until 3:30 p.m. Exchanges are very limited and willonly be made, if we made a mistake in your order. If you got what you ordered, then your order is correct. This is a fundraiser so we do not order more than a couple of extras. Any extras that we have will be available at the check-in table Walkathon morning for $10 each. Keep your child's shirt – students will wear them for field trips, and there are no extras.
  • Parking: On the morning of Walkathon, drop off as normal, and clear Cumberland by 8:00 a.m. This street will be blocked at 8:10 a.m. If you are late, you will need to park and walk up to the school. Do not park on Cumberland Road, on either side, in front of the school. This street is our holding area, and we will be hurrying to set up the cars and trailers that will be in the Walkathon. After drop-off, park and make your way back to the front of the school. Parents and family members will not go inside, but gather in front of the school and wait on the students to come out.
  • Route: The route is slightly different from past years due to the road construction. However, we could not avoid it all, and will need all adults helping to monitor students as we will pass one intersection that is still torn up and may have equipment close by. We do not walk into the yards, and we do not litter, of course. Some neighbors along the walk will have recycling bins out to dispose of empty water bottles.
  • Water Station: The water station will be in front of the school this year. Frost Bank has generously donated 1,200 water bottles for our walk. You may get water before you leave on the walk. Room Parents may find it helpful for the younger kids to carry a stroller or wagon, if they need help carrying their bottles.
  • Popsicles: We will have them for all students at the end of the walk. Teachers or Room Parents should get the amount needed for their class and distribute them in front of the school.
  • Volunteers: If you have a younger child and are able to walk, we need you to walk with your child's class. If you are not able to walk or don't want to walk, we need volunteers to man the closed intersections along the walk. We would also welcome grandparents, neighbors, etc., who want to man these intersections.
  • Contact: If you want to volunteer or if you have questions, please contact michellehenderson@sbcglobal.net
