Thanks for Supporting Carnival!

Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy our Carnival last Friday night. Special thanks to all of the parents and teachers who organized it and worked the booths. It was a great time!


Attend the Achieve 3000 Information Meeting This Thursday, Oct. 20

FWISD is launching a new reading program – Achieve 3000. You are invited to learn more about it at our information meeting at 6 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 20, in the library.


Invention Convention This Thursday, Oct. 20

·      Students participating in Invention Convention need to bring their entries to the area in front of the library this Thursday, Oct. 20.

·      Winners will be announced on Thursday, and the winning inventions will go to the district meet in December.


Teacher Appreciation Breakfast This Friday, Oct. 21

·      We are hosting a breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for teachers and staff to show them our appreciation for all they do for our students at RHE.

·      If you are interested in bringing something for the breakfast and/or volunteering to serve that morning, please email Blair Chappell at blair.chappell@unthsc.edu


Pumpkin Patch Starts Next Monday, Oct. 24

·      Let your students’ creativity flow with paint, stickers, glitter, markers or any other decorations to make their pumpkins awesome! Remember, this event is meant for student work not parent or professional work.

·      No carved pumpkins will be accepted.

·      Please only bring pumpkins that the students can carry by themselves.

·      Students will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin, and each grade level will have prizes!

·      Pumpkins will remain on display through Friday, Oct. 28.

Book Fair Scheduled for Oct. 25 – Nov. 3; Volunteers Needed

·      Our Book Fair will run from Tuesday, Oct. 25, through Thursday, Nov. 3, in the library. Our librarian, Ms. Rick, needs volunteers to set up and assist students during Book Fair.

·      Please go to Sign-Up on My School Anywhere to sign up for available shifts. 


Math-O-Ween – RHE’s 1st Annual Math Night Coming Up On Thursday, Oct. 27!

·      Don’t miss out on RHE’s 1st Annual Math Night – Math-O-Ween – from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.

·      Students are encouraged to wear their costumes. There will be trick or treating for candy after each math activity, and prizes for Most Creative Math Costume!

·      We are still in need of donations of small individually wrapped candy. Please drop them by Ms. Hixon’s or Ms. Niehoff’s classroom.

·      A flyer will be sent home in folders this week. Please RSVP by completing the short portion on the form and returning it by Friday, Oct. 21, to receive a bag of dice and cards and a chance to win a gift card!


Storybook Character Dress-Up Day (All Students) and Parade (PPCD, Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade Students Only) on Monday, Oct. 31

RHE Mustangs love to read! Please have your student select a character from a book to portray on Monday, Oct. 31.

·      Your student may dress up as that character. All storybook characters should come to school that day with their books.

·      PPCD, pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students will participate in a parade through the school after the morning announcements.

·      Students in second, third, fourth and fifth grades will have an assignment in the classroom at that time.

·      Super hero and scary costumes are not allowed. (Ms. Rick does not have super hero books available.)  

·      Students will need to bring a change of clothes in accordance with our dress code to change into.

·      Please watch for more information specific to your student’s grade level coming home in folders soon.

·      Parents are welcome to stay and watch the younger students as they parade through the school! Please sign in at the office.

·      Thank you for helping foster a love of quality literature!
