Pumpkin Patch Starts Tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 24

·      Let your students’ creativity flow with paint, stickers, glitter, markers or any other decorations to make their pumpkins awesome! Remember, this event is meant for student work not parent or professional work.

·      No carved pumpkins will be accepted.

·      Please only bring pumpkins that the students can carry by themselves.

·      Students will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin, and each grade level will have prizes!

·      Drop-off will be Monday through Wednesday, and voting will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Pumpkins will be accepted after Wednesday for display but will miss the voting.

·      Pumpkins will remain on display through Friday, Oct. 28.

It’s Red Ribbon Week!

Our Red Ribbon/Drug Awareness Week will begin tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 24, and end on Friday, Oct. 28. This week celebrates the national campaign to encourage our students to stay healthy and live drug and alcohol free. To show our support in promoting a drug free school and community, RHE will highlight a special theme each day. We would like students to take part in these events this week:

·      Monday, Oct. 24 – Be A Good SPORT, Don’t Do Drugs; students wear their favorite sports team shirts.

·      Tuesday, Oct. 25 – I Have A BRIGHT FUTURE Without Drugs; students wear their neon-colored shirts.

·      Wednesday, Oct. 26 – Put A CAP On Drugs; students wear their favorite caps.

·      Thursday, Oct. 27 – Be All You Can Be, Be Drug Free; students wear camouflage clothing.

·      Friday, Oct. 28 – Red Day; students wear red to support Red Ribbon Week.


Book Fair Scheduled for Oct. 26 – Nov. 3; Volunteers Needed

·      Our Book Fair will run from Wednesday, Oct. 26, through Thursday, Nov. 3, in the library. Our librarian, Ms. Rick, needs volunteers to set up and assist students during Book Fair.

·      Please go to Sign-Up on My School Anywhere to sign up for available shifts. 

·      Students will be visiting our Book Fair with their classes, and students will have the opportunity to purchase books then.

·      Book Fair will be open the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 25, for teachers and parents only as well as that evening from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to the Fourth Grade Music Program.

·      On Monday, Oct. 31, students who visit the Book Fair with an adult family member and say “Trick or Treat” to Ms. Rick will receive a free ticket for a door prize.

RHE Representing at All Saints Chess Tournament

Five of our RHE students represented our school at a chess tournament at All Saints Episcopal School yesterday.

·      Lane Daley, Collin Dehm, Adam Averett, Ty Buffington and Hudson Harris placed 2nd overall in their division.

·      Adam placed 2nd overall in his division, and Hudson placed 3rd individually.

·      Great job, Mustangs!


Reminder: Math-O-Ween – RHE’s 1st Annual Math Night Coming Up This Thursday, Oct. 27!

·      Don’t miss out on RHE’s 1st Annual Math Night – Math-O-Ween – from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 27.

·      Students are encouraged to wear their costumes. There will be trick or treating for candy after each math activity, and prizes for Most Creative Math Costume!

·      We are still in need of donations of small individually wrapped candy. Please drop them by Ms. Hixon’s or Ms. Niehoff’s classroom.


Attn: 5th Grade Parents – Program of Choice Presentation at 2 P.M. on Nov. 4 at RHE

·      FWISD is proud to present the Programs of Choice for the 2017-2018 school year! These programs provide opportunities that include a variety of learning experiences and program specific curriculum.

·      You are invited to attend an overview presentation being held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at RHE.

·      This presentation will last approximately 45 minutes and will include an overview of all Middle School Programs and Schools of Choice.

·      The Choices Expo is an additional opportunity to learn more about the Programs of Choice. This event will be held at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 12.

·      Parents and students will be given the opportunity to visit middle school campuses of interest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17.
