RH Carpool Procedures

posted Aug 21, 2013, 4:01 PM by Ridglea Hills PTA

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The most important thing is safety first for our students!  We have been collaborating with our Faculty and Staff, PTA President, Michelle Henderson, the City of Ft. Worth, and Shaun Burns, Arlington Heights Pyramid Area Advisor, and Officer Brooks of the Ft. Worth Police Department, to continue to improve our arrival and dismissal procedures to better accommodate our children and families.  Please review and adhere to the following guidelines for the safety of the children for arrival and dismissal at our wonderful campus!

Carpool Procedures

*    The carpool line forms along Angus on the far right side of the road.
*    Angus is a two way street, but now will have double no crossing lines so that the flow of

traffic will ensure efficiency and safety of the carpool process.  F.Y.I., Officer Brooks will be present to ensure this process and violators could possibly be ticketed if the double lines are crossed.
*    Remain in your car and refrain from "cutting" in line.  Both of these items will result in

*    Follow to the end of the loading zone toward Stonedale.
*    Continue to pull forward and stop in the loading zone when directed to do so or in a case of

      an emergency.
*    Safety patrol students will assist your child while loading and unloading your vehicle.
*    We CAN NOT load children in double-parked cars.
*    We CAN NOT escort children across the street to a parent.
*    Remember - cell phones are NOT permitted in school zones.

Bus Procedures

Bus procedures have changed.  Buses will drop off in front in the morning and will pick up in the back parking lot in the afternoon.

Although we have a very efficient system in place, we are always looking for ways to improve our procedures for the betterment of our campus with invaluable input from all stakeholders in our learning community.  It is very important to adhere to these rules in order to keep our children as safe as possible.  The Ft. Worth police department will also be putting up new signs and providing officers in addition to Mr. Brooks to help us with our new changes.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and look forward to seeing you all August 26, 2013, the first day of school!
