Walkathon Update
As of last week, we have raised more than $49,000 for Walkathon so far! Let’s finish this last week strong!

Thanks to all our Mustang families and sponsors who have already contributed!
  • Congrats to Mrs. Sanchez’s class who raised the most money last week and were treated to sweet treats compliments of Shane’s Cookie Corner. Whose class will raise the most this last week?
  • Keep those donations coming, and remember that no donation is too small. Everyone can participate.
  • All information, including forms, is also available on the RHPTA website under Fundraisers/Special Events or click the following link: http://www.rhpta.com/pta/events/walkathon
  • Also, we have made donating online easy for guests:
  • Take it to the Bank Challenge This Week!We are having a challenge between classrooms to fill the bank bag with the most coins/bills! The class who raises the most money this week will win a treat the week following Walkathon. Let’s take it to the bank!
  • Weekend Jeep Raffle Time!Would you like to drive a super cool jeep for the weekend? We will raffle off two Jeeps for the weekend of Oct. 5-7 – compliments of Frank Kent! Tickets are $20 each and are available for purchase online or at the Walkathon Spirit Shop before school this Monday through Thursday! The drawing will take place Thursday afternoon.
  • Check out some of the other exciting things planned leading up to our big day THIS Friday, Oct. 5, starting at 8:15 a.m.

Walkathon Morning Drop-Off Information for Friday, Oct. 5
  • No parking along Cumberland in front of the school in the morning this Friday, Oct. 5.
  • Carpool will run as usual.
  • Plan for a crowded parking situation.
  • Allow extra time to park.
  • If you want to park on campus, please use the bottom parking lot next to the track.
  • Exercise caution as there will be a significant amount of pedestrian traffic as people arrive at the school.
  • Please be patient and follow the directions of our volunteers. We have many neighborhood (non-RH) volunteers and want to show our Mustang manners and appreciation for them.
  • You may walk your child to class then leave the classroom and wait in front of the school. Additional bodies in the halls and classrooms make it difficult for classes to exit and ultimately delay the Walkathon start. We want to be respectful of all of our parents who have other obligations later in the day.

Walkathon Walk Information for Friday, Oct. 5
  • Classes will exit the building when called on the loudspeaker.
  • The winning class who raised the most money will lead the Walkathon.
  • Following them will be each grade in descending order starting with fifth.
  • Grades 3-5 will walk two laps on the route.
  • Grades PreK-2 will walk one lap on the route. **PreK will walk the same route as everyone else.**
  • Encourage kids to take care of the neighborhood by placing water bottles in recycling receptacles through the neighborhood.
  • After their laps, classes will return to their routine day.
  • If you plan to stay to volunteer or go to the classrooms after Walkathon, you must check in at the office.
  • When exiting the neighborhood, please exercise extreme caution as we may still have older walkers on the route.
